The Perfect Cheesecake

Once upon a time, there was a programmer who dreamed of making the perfect cheesecake. How it all started was because she bought a block of cream cheese at the supermarket. Curious at what a cream cheese is, she decided it was the right time to add it up to the grocery amidst the scornful look of the budget officer (the husband). >_<

The rest was a symphony pounding, peeling, mixing, tasting.. in tune with the screaming and tugging of the programmer’s lil baby boy. All the experimentation just to achieve the blend of the so-called cheese cake. It was the no-bake variety of course because our protagonist does not have an oven.

She was at Cheesecake #1.. a recipe she found online that was supposed to be called “Calamansi Cloud Cake”. Of course it wasn’t cheese cake but it tasted like it in all aspects. Then came Cheesecake #2, the picture of which is at the top of this post.. a blend of crust and filling and strawberry on top. “Strawberry Cheesecake” was the name. It was the protagonist’s response to the mundane definition of “cheesecake” that she tasted that day at the cafeteria.

Too early to tell the outcome of this quest for the “perfect cheesecake”. She’s still looking forward for another cheesecake weekend.. a weekend of calories.

This is the translation to the Romanji Lyrics for Shooting Star – Naruto Shippuden

Romanji Lyrics found here:

Sang by: HOME MADE KAZOKU

When I look up at the sky
The stars, see, are sparkling
Each giving off its own light
Like the people on this planet
Yeah, so I, too
Want to shine particularly bright
I close my eyes and make a vow in my heart
And entrust my dreams to that shooting star

I’m in my usual park
I can see the night scenery
On the slide
That’s been my special seat for years
Whenever I’m worried about something, I come here
Just like then, I’m on my way to my dreams
But unable to fulfil them

“Maybe this is the end of the line”
There are days when I say weak things like that
But every time, I remember
That starry sky where I looked for a shooting star
The wish I made when I was little
Hasn’t changed even now

When I look up at the sky
The stars, see, are sparkling
Each giving off its own light
Like the people on this planet
Yeah, so I, too
Want to shine particularly bright
I close my eyes and make a vow in my heart
And entrust my dreams to that shooting star
