After three years of applying for this program, I finally made it.
Yes, it wasn’t as easy as it looks. Had to cut through hundreds of applications, hours of preparation, sleepless nights, and heartaches knowing I didn’t make the cut in the past years.
But finally, for the Spring 2018 cohort, I gained a spot to the much coveted Professional Fellowship Program. Only 4 of us in the Philippines made the cut.
I was part of the Economic Empowerment cohort. The program will bring me to Washington, DC and then to Chicago, Illinois where I will be assigned at Mikva Challenge, a nonprofit org. There, I will be working with the Juvenile Justice Council to help them tell their stories through digital media.
I am very much honored. And very much excited.
All my work from my social media agency, to my advocacies for entrepreneurship and use of digital media, is summarized with the phrase economic empowerment.
Yes, because that is the goal. A better life for everyone through more opportunities in digital and tech.
