Webmaster Guidelines from Google

I am currently going through the Webmaster guidelines as listed on the Google site since it said that my site isn’t index yet. I will go through the guidelines step by step and see where I might get in a rut.

Use a text browser such as Lynx to examine your site, because most search engine spiders see your site much as Lynx would. If fancy features such as JavaScript, cookies, session IDs, frames, DHTML, or Flash keep you from seeing all of your site in a text browser, then search engine spiders may have trouble crawling your site.

So, I went to Lynx Viewer to try and see the site as text. Just for the record, I’m just curious of how all these countless tools and tips from Google will give me the knowledge I am seeking for to help me prepare for the NEXT “Busby SEO competition“. Haha, so looking into the future.

Okay back to topic. I realized that Lynx Viewer had to verify that I am the site owner so I will place here the image they want me to place on the site.

Will be back in a few minutes to check if this works.

Edit: Now that was silly of me. This site is hosted by Blogger and I can’t do a thing on the part which said:

You need to create a file called delorie.htm or delorie.gif (here’s one) on your web server to prove you’re the webmaster. When I see this file (it can be empty) I’ll allow my tools to access your site.

Attempted URL: http://likke.info/delorie.htm (not found)

Attempted URL: http://likke.info/delorie.html (not found)

Attempted URL: http://likke.info/delorie.html (not found)

Attempted URL: http://likke.info/delorie.gif (not found)

Attempted URL: http://likke.info/delorie.gif (not found)

This is a FAIL. Or so I think. Moving on to the next item on the guideline..
