That guy posted that status message, “Cognitive Dissonance” on my YM list today. Since I have to be doing something random anyway, I decided to look it up. I do not need to explain it here, or do I? It’s something psychological. Like two conflicting interests are felt by the person. The forbidden toy study is stuck in my head.. I mean like it’s true that the more it’s forbidden, the more you’ll end up liking it, right? It’s either that OR you decide to think that it isn’t worth anything at all.
Take for example the parable “The Fox and the Grapes”, he ended up saying, “Those grapes are unripe anyway!”. Or like what what they say, “the more you hate, the more you love”? Is this connected to that phrase?
There must be an emotion felt.. anger, hate, disappointment.. but not just those. It must be a STRONG one for a person to say “I TRULY WANT THIS!” So then I must probably end up convincing myself to feel “moderate” about that person. In case something related comes up, I would have to say, well this is not right anyway.. or some other random excuses I can come up with.
For now all I can say is that.. this is a good thing. To be able to get in touch.. to not wonder how, where, what.. so that these feelings will wander off and leave me alone.
